After the departure of Edgar Wright, the internet has been swarming with rumours about who would take up the mantel of the forthcoming Ant-Man movie, starring Paul Rudd as the lead. Finally the wait is over, as Marvel have officially confirmed their replacement on their website alongside a short but intriguing synopsis! Check it out below!

When Marvel's "Ant-Man" hits theaters July 17, 2015, director Peyton Reed will help shepherd the hero into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a cast led by Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, with writer Adam McKay contributing to the film's script.
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.

Up to this point, Reed has been a consistent director in the comedy world with movies such as Bring It On, Down With Love and The Break-Up. His most recent film, Yes Man, starred Jim Carey as lead. With Paul Rudds proven comical talent, perhaps this is a team made in heaven!

It comes as no surprise that Marvel would choose Peyton Reed as Edgars replacement, having experience in the Marvel universe before whilst developing the Fantastic Four at Fox before Tim Story took over the property.

So how do you feel about the replacement and this short synopsis? As always, give me your thoughts below!
