Peeta. So sweet and wounded, so brave and kind. So totally capable of killing a girl in cold blood...

Katniss Everdeen went down on the set of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 recently. Jennifer Lawrence, who was shooting for the franchise in France, was dressed for combat in body armor while shooting the stunt. The action scene, which knocked her to the ground, involved Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark - and a helluva lot of drama!

In the Mockingjay novel, just like archery was Katniss's strength, words were Peeta's weapons. It's also something that The Capitol was able to take away, by "hijacking" Peeta and replacing all his good memories of Katniss with evil ones. Fans of the book will know that by the time The Capitol's done torturing Peeta, he's lost his ability to speak so beautifully and so fluently. He's also ready to kill Katniss, the person whom he really loves...

Here's the hard proof as a host of new set images:

Katniss is stunned when Peeta attempts to strangle her. She then tries to escape, before Peeta lashes out in uncharacteristic fits of rage...

Peeta retreats into his own head, temporarily loses the power of speech, cannot differentiate between what is an illusion and what is reality, and pulls a gun on Katniss.

Bad Peeta!

Luckily, Katniss is largely unharmed and Peeta perseveres; he has the courage to look himself in the face and try to heal. And despite being turned into a weapon, he is ultimately good, and continues to serve as Mockingjay's moral compass... And Katniss's life is all the richer for it.
