French director Luc Besson is responsible for some of the most iconic action heroines of screen history: the eponymous La Femme Nikita in the French assassin thriller (1990), Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) in The Fifth Element, and Mathilda (Natalie Portman) in Léon.
By the look of this new kick-ass TV spot, Scarlett Johansson as Lucy won't be breaking that Besson mold! Take a look at this and see what you think:
Universal clearly has confidence that this Scarlett Johansson female action star spiel will be pretty special and, refreshingly, this TV spot is a perfect example of how to sell the flick without giving away all of the main plot points.
From the synopsis:
When drug mule Lucy (Johansson) by accident gets a good dose of what she is transporting into her system, she suddenly acquires superhuman strength and fighting know-how. She also gains a whole heap of other neat tricks: she's able to absorb knowledge instantaneously, is unable to feel pain and can move objects with her mind. In short: Lucy is one sexy fighting machine!
