It looked like Sony wanted to leave the best 'til last at this year's E3 video game expo. The gaming giant decided to end their E3 press conference with the first trailer for the fourth movie in Naughty Dog's Uncharted series, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
The trailer, which does not show any actual gameplay, but which does claim to be recorded from a Playstation 4, shows Nathan Drake coming round (and looking more like Nathan Fillion than ever) mid-way through another treasure hunting adventure. From what I can gather, this may actually be the opening scene to the game. Check it out below:
Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirates treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.
Although we've yet to see actual gameplay, the footage still does a nice job of setting up the tone and the narrative heavy nature which has made Uncharted so successful. However, considering the subtitle of the game, and the suggestion Drake is on one last adventure, could this be the last Uncharted game?
There's still a bit of a wait before we can enjoy what this latest chapter has to offer though. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is expected some time in 2015, exclusively on Playstation 4.
How do you feel about Uncharted potentially ending?
