If you're a huge fan of The Walking Dead and want to see the show run forever and ever, I have great news: producer David Alpert has a long term plan for the zombie drama, which could see the show go on for at least another seven seasons.
Talking at the PGA Panel on Sunday, Alpert admitted:
I happen to love working from source material, specifically because we have a pretty good idea of what season 10 is gonna be. We know where season 11 and 12...we have benchmarks and milestones for those seasons if we're lucky enough to get there.
Talk about forward planning...
I love The Walking Dead as much as the next Dead-Head, but 12 seasons could be quite an ambitious target - especially for a scripted, big budget, prime-time cable show.
Contemporary shows such as The Wire and Breaking Bad both ran for five seasons and it's a real challenge to maintain such high quality for a long period of time.
That being said, [The Walking Dead](series:201193) does have some excellent source material to draw from, so it certainly won't be short of storylines in the seasons to come. And if the show continues to break all the ratings records, I imagine it will be around for a few more years yet.
How Many season in total should The Walking Dead get?
