George Osborne, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Tatton, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer, visited the Pinewood Studios set of Star Wars: Episode VII in London today.
While touring the set, Osborne used his Twitter account to tease out the latest Star Wars rumor and a behind-the-scenes set pic.
Osborne's first tweet from @George_Osborne was:
On set of Episode VII tonight, can announce another #StarWars film will be made in UK. A #LongTermEconomicPlan in a galaxy far far away
What now remains to be seen is whether the Star Wars film in question turns out to be Episode VIII or one of the stand-alone spin-off films directed by either Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) or Josh Trank (Chronicle).
Osborne's next tweet was a picture of him posing on what looks like the in-door set where they have been building the Millennium Falcon:
With #StarWars director J.J Abrams and Lucasfilm president Kathy Kennedy, talking to a key cast member...
which ended up being the astromech droid from EVERY Star Wars film made, R2-D2.
