How could a well-respected indie director possibly say "no" to a film with a cracker-jack title like The Bringing, based on a real woman's tragic death in a hotel where serial killers used to hang out? Well... he did! After months of speculation and negotiations, Nicolas Winding Refn has dropped out of the horror film based on the death of Elisa Lam.
With Refn out, Sony will be on the hunt for either a trusted name or, more likely, a "next big thing" horror director to make The Bringing a reality.
Who do you think would make a good director for this true-life horror story? Do you think Sony should just let it drop? Let me know in the comments section!
