Reports leaked from the Fast & Furious 7 set that Vin Diesel is becoming increasingly difficult to work with have been categorically denied by Universal Pictures.
Following the rumors of bad behavior from Diesel, and talk that the production team were struggling to fit late actor Paul Walker's character into the latest installment, Universal Pictures chairman, Donna Langley, has spoken out to deny any difficulties. The chairman released a statement saying;
This production is working through some challenges that are historically unprecedented. The crew and cast, led by Vin, have been nothing but terrific under these circumstances
I think the key words here are "under these circumstances". Things might be rough on the [Fast & Furious 7](movie:264263) set at the moment, but there is good reason for everyones struggles.
Not only is there the huge emotional toll of losing Paul Walker on the cast and crew, there is also the burden of the huge technological challenges to complete Paul's final legacy.
I just hope Walker's brothers, Caleb and Cody, are holding out okay on set.
The Vin Diesel rumors that were leaked from the F&F 7 set have left me thinking about actors and the truth behind their reputations, so I did a little bit of research to find out some 'rude' actors who are apparently surprisingly nice on set.
Check out my list of 4 surprisingly nice 'rude' celebrities!
4. Ann Hathaway
Anne Hathaway has a terrible reputation for being distant and rude to people on set, but apparently her uppity reputation is not all it seems. A source explained that;
A friend of mine was a background actor in ‘Rachel Getting Married.’ He said Anne seemed really cold and distant all,of filming, which he found really hard to believe. Anyway, come the film’s wrap, the extras are throwing their own wrap party. Who shows up with food and booze? Anne Hathaway. She apologized to everyone saying she was so invested in the part and it was taking a lot out of her. She played beer pong with everyone there til like 2 AM
Seems like maybe Hathaway is just a high achiever who is trying her best to be professional, instead of having a stick up her ass. You don't just win an Oscar for nothing.
3. Sean Penn
There is no denying that Sean Penn is a violent bastard in his private life. He was charged with domestic abuse for beating Madonna with a baseball bat not to mention assaulting various photographer, but don't worry. Apparently he whips his good side out when he's at work. According to a source who worked with Sean Penn;
He was always a gentleman. I know it may be hard to believe, but he is an incredibly down to earth person who is always willing to lend a helping hand no matter where you rank on the hierarchy
I guess that makes sense, seeing as he is so into communism...
2. Renée Zellweger
You can hardly read Zellweger's name without it being closely followed by the words 'ice queen', but is she really that frosty? Apparently not. According to a Reddit user who worked on set with the actress;
Renee Zellwegger, was a real sweetheart. She ran around talking to all the extras, even handing out hot drinks to them when it got chilly. She seemed to do everything on her own- get her own food, wander around set alone, sit with crew guys during breaks, chat with any and everybody. It may not sound like a big deal, but most stars of her caliber would separate themselves to a degree and have their assistants running to get them their snacks/coffee. She was super friendly and relaxed
1. Bruce Willis
Only yesterday I wrote about Bruce Willis' reputation for his extreme rudeness and know-it-all tendency to be one of the worst back-seat directors in the business, but apparently he can be a great guy if you treat him right. An employee at Best Buy had this to say about Willis;
Bruce Willis walked in to the Best Buy I worked at , took one look at me, walked right over and said, “You’re the first one that made eye contact… sell me a laptop.”
At first I was terrified because he was so abrupt, but I asked him a bunch of questions, put together a good set up for him. Had a great time. He asked me about the specs on several computers, and I replied using a voice similar to the geek character from Robot Chicken. He laughed so hard he had to sit down for a while to get his composition back.
I wound up shopping him through every department. He left with $30,000 dollars worth of stuff. A lot of it we had to order and ship. Most of it gifts for his friends and family.
When he checked out he offered to take a picture with me, and I hadn’t even asked…He ordered pizza for the staff since he’d spent so much time there that day. We grabbed a display camera and he took a bunch of pictures with us.
It was an amazing day. All in all, Bruce was there for almost 6 hours.
I find it a little unbelievable Bruce Willis was in a Best Buy for 6 hours, but this is a great story if its true!
