All weekend long new on-location, behind-the-scenes set photos have been leaking on social media for Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron, directed by Joss Whedon.
Filming has been underway since last Friday morning on the campus of the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. The photos include a set that appears to be part of The Avengers Tower (formerly Stark Tower in Marvel's Avengers), complete with a giant Avengers logo
and shots of Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) filming on set
and the backsides of Thor and Black Widow's stunt doubles.
Several photos, and video (more on that in a minute) of what appears to be S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits in basic training have also been taken. Is it possible new S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson is rebuilding the spy organization in Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Word is that Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver) have been seen on set in costume, though no photos of them have leaked yet. Interestingly, Anthony Mackie (The Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier ) and B.J. Britt (Agent Triplett from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) have also been seen on set shooting scenes, as well as the Iron Patriot armor; but no Don Cheadle. There have been rumors for months that both Falcon and Iron Patriot would be appearing in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but this is the first heard of anyone from the Marvel TV show making the jump to the big screen.
Here is what Comicbook Movie had to say on all the leaked photos:
"Last month, some students at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK, were invited to audition for an AfterParty, or rather the fake production title that belongs to Avengers: Age of Ultron. Today, at least 35 of those students are taking part in scenes that are being filmed right on the campus, specifically at its Sainsbury Centre of Visual Arts. There is no word on which principal Age of Ultron actors are present, but early set photos (via Enjoy Norwich) reveal a truckload of Audis as well as The Avengers' official logo as signage inside the building. The high end sports cars undoubtedly belong to "Iron Man" Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), but the big 'A' sign also indicates that the campus' Sainsbury Centre could be doubling for an interior of the new Avengers Tower, formally Stark Tower. Check out the photos below, and check back later for updates from the Norwich set."
Additionally, Sunday night, Cinema Blend posted exclusive video from the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron, featuring an entire scene with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, along with those S.H.I.E.L.D. recruits in the background. That video can be watched at the link below:
