It looks like Anthony Mackie finally got his call to join the Avengers: According to new reports, the Falcon, also known as Sam Wilson, will indeed be on Avengers: Age of Ultron!
According to observers:
Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" star Anthony Mackie, and B.J. Britt (Agent Triplett from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) have all been spotted on set, in costume.
The Iron Patriot armor, known for its pivotal role in Iron Man 3, has been seen, but Don Cheadle was not.
A couple of blurry long shots of a group of costumed extras are said to be "Avengers Recruits."
A piece of set dressing appears to be part of Avengers Tower.
With recent leaks of on-set filming and image leaks for the Avengers Tower, these reports seemingly have a better chance of being more than just rumor. Possibly the best part about all of this is that as of mere weeks ago, Mackie had no idea whether or not he would be in the movie:
Chris [Evans] is a good friend of mine. The movie starts in three weeks. I know he’s read the script. He’s like, ‘Yo, man, I read the Avengers script. It’s good.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ He said, ‘Yeah, Joss is doing rewrites, but it’s good. I was like, ‘Great! So … am I in it?’ And he says, ‘I’ve got to go. I’ll be back.’ What do you mean? Why can’t you just tell me if I’m in the movie? No one will tell me, not one person, so I gave up on it.
If these reports are true, than Anthony Mackie only recently found out he's part of the movie, or he's the best liar we've ever seen in Hollywood. And that's saying something, considering actors are famous for convincing the audience they're somebody they're not.
