This just in from Batman-News! The site that reports all news related to [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870), has just released information regarding the incomplete Superman statue that hit the web last week. If you missed my article on it click here.
According to Batman-News, the statue is indeed being erected in honor of Superman after the events of Man of Steel. Very similar to the homage paid to Batman at the end of [The Dark Knight Rises](movie:39011). Their source is also confirming that the scene in question is at an award ceremony with the mayor speaking, as well as elementary school kids wearing shirts reading "Superman Survivors."
Dawn of Justice is said to take place 2 years after the destruction of Metropolis, and while some are happy that Superman is their hero and savior, some aren't too happy with his actions and probably fear him being on this planet with a free hall-pass.
According to Batman-News:
..they filmed a scene where maintenance guys had to re-paint the statue because it was full of graffiti — meaning at some point in the film the public turns on Superman.
This was sure to be a given. With Lex Luthor being the main antagonist, I believe he will get a small group of civilians to turn on the man of blue. Maybe even some government officials.
We have already heard word that the first encounter between Batman and Superman doesn't go very well, but when and how they will end up joining forces is yet to be revealed.
There is also a Batmobile update. Supposedly the doors open up like wings. Could it be possible that it transforms into the Batwing? Or Maybe Bruce likes Lambo doors? With [Wonder Woman](movie:45787) and Superman being in the film, it would only make sense that Batman doesn't want to be grounded.
I wonder what director Zack Snyder has in store for us because it all sounds VERY positive to me. What do you guys think? Sound off below!
