Since I found out that SyFy was making it's own answer to Discovery Channel's Shark Week, I thought the nightmare would be over...but I was wrong. A sequel to the SyFy "hit" Sharktopus is coming to the CGI friendly network. Please note that I'm using the term "hit" in a VERY loose and ironic way here.
The title? Sharktopus vs Pteracuda.
The story: American scientist, Robert Carradine (Django, Unchained) is up to no good and creates the WILDLY implausible half-pterodactyl, half-barracuda: Pteracuda. As with all films like this, when the creature escapes, it’s up to Sharktopus to stop this new abortion of science.
So, Sharktopus is the hero of the film (not taking notes from better monster movies at all, are we?), and SyFy strikes another blow for degenerate filmmaking, CGI badness, and further convinces me that the real reason why SyFy changed their branding is because they don't ACTUALLY know what science really is.
Sharktopus vs Pteracuda premieres on August 2nd on Syfy
