Some things in life are both ugly and awesome. Orc Chieftain Azog is one of them.

New Zealand actor Manu Bennett, the guy set to play Azog the Orc in The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, was still shooting for the movie a month before The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey's premiere. And although most of the filming for Peter Jackson's final installment in The Hobbit triptych has almost wrapped, The One Ring are reporting that:

I was able to have a quick chat with Manu Bennett (AKA Azog) whilst I was getting his signature. He said he had not completed filming for Azog yet on the final film and he was set to return to New Zealand next month to finish up.

Having been scared to tears in An Unexpected Journey where the dwarves were cornered on the cliff edge by a rather nasty band of undesirables led by Azog the Defiler, I can definitely say I'm pleased by Peter Jackson's decision to re-cast Bennett...

In fact, whatever happens to Azog (and Thorin, for that matter) in The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies, I trust Jackson. May it be a breathtaking journey!
