Teresa Palmer is circling the contentious upcoming remake of 90s action flick, Point Break. The 28-year-old Australian actress, straight from her turn in Terrence Malick's romantic drama Knight of Cups, is currently in negotiations for a role. Though we don't have specifics on that role just yet (I'm going with love interest), we do know that it is the female lead.
Palmer would be joining the cast alongside Edgar Ramirez, who will be taking on the role of Bodhi (originally played by Patrick Swayze) and Luke Bracey, who will be playing Johnny Utah (originally played by Keanu Reeves).
I've been skeptical about Ericson Core's Point Break reboot from the start, as have most people, and I really can't see this movie turning out to be anywhere near as good as the original was. I mean, tackling the intersection of international bank robbery and extreme sports? Hats off, bro.
At this point, do you think there any earthly reasons for remaking this movie? Or are we heading for Pointless Break? I know the idea of making something new makes some people's heads hurt, but I still think they should give it a go...
Teresa Palmer's joining Point Break. Excited?
