Universal have announced that hey are pushing the fifth Bourne film back by almost a year.
The untitled project was meant to arrive in 14 August 2015, only for Universal to announce that the film will now open 15 July 2016.
With production yet to have begun on the film, it seems that Universal are currently unhappy with the state of the script, having recently drafted in Andrew Baldwin to perform some work on it.
The studio was clearly not satisfied with the version turned in by original writer Anthony Packham, and it seems as though it will take Baldwin longer than anticipated to lick it into shape.
Justin Lin is in place to direct the film, with Jeremy Renner set to return for a second time as super-spy, Aaron Cross.
Extra time now available for Universal to talk Matt Damon into that cameo...
