Game of Thrones has done a great job of creating a world dominated by archaic and feudal families, but let's not forget such families also exist in the reality.
From the sounds of things, these two worlds are due to collide with the news that Queen Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Mother of Dragons, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith (that's her full title) is due to pay a visit to the Northern Ireland Game of Thrones set with her husband Prince Phillip, the Duke of Making Slightly Racist Public Gaffes.
Instead of relying on ravens, The Queen of England - or more accurately her head of PR - instead decided to announce the news via her official Twitter account. It stated:
Fantasy television shows have always liked to present kings and queens but unfortunately, when it comes to the deadly world of Westeros, the royals really can't expect to live long. The four season run of the show has seen many kings killed at the hands of other baying political players.
Right now, it's not exactly clear if Queen Elizabeth II is actually really a fan of the outrageously popular show, or whether this is well-timed event to simply remind you Queen Liz actually does do something other than opening fancy museums and appearing on gaudy merchandise. Game of Thrones has been an incredibly large revenue generator for Northern Ireland and, is according to some estimates, the biggest television production in Europe, making over $139 million during the 3 years it has been on our screens.
Of course, the picture every fan of Game of Thrones will want to see is one of the Queen of England sitting upon the Iron Throne and looking particularly menacing. In fact, the internet has already got together and shown us what this glorious state event could actually look like:
At the end of Game of Thrones, who do you want to be a the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms?
Who do you want to rule the Seven Kingdoms?
