If the world was told a year ago that Ben Affleck was going to be Batman in Batman v Superman and star in a Batman solo movie, the world would have gone madder than it already was. Luckily the Batfleck costume changed people's minds and it is rumored that are going to be seeing a full Batman movie in 2019.
After Nikki Finke published a list of WB's possible plan, we have been wondering where DC's crop of Batman movies has gone too.
According to Latino-Review, here's what'll happen:
Let's break it down. Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice League should be ending production in December, then they break for the holidays and go into production on Justice League in the winter of 2015.
Affleck then takes a break from donning the cape and in the summer of 2015, he writes, directs, and stars in his period gangster film Live By Night. The film's scheduled to hit theaters in October 2016. The studio has the time after Live By Night's release to develop the screenplay to the standalone Batman film ready to start production either in 2017 or 2018. It wouldn't surprise me if they actively start developing the script after Justice League or sooner.
Well there you have it. Umberto Gonzalez is sometimes reliable, but who knows? It's a bit inevitable and Affleck will be 47 by that time, but maybe directors, writers, and producers plan on replacing him with Nightwing.
Meanwhile, "Gotham" is coming to FOX where we'll see a young Bruce Wayne grow up. Just know something among the villains: "penguins" eat "fish".
Any ideas for what the 2019 Batman movie will be about? Do you have title ideas?
Before Batman, there was Superman. Before Superman had his solo sequel, there was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
