Last week, the Star Wars community erupted with concern and well-wishes for actor Harrison Ford. The 71 year old actor, who will reprise his role as suave smuggler Han Solo in the seventh chapter of the much loved Star Wars series, was injured on set last week after he apparently collided with a door and broke his ankle.
Now, one week later, we have a bit of an update on Mr. Ford`s condition.
A spokesmen for the actor has told The Mirror that Harrison Ford has had “successful” surgery after breaking his leg.
Additionally, we now know Harrison will most likely be absent from filming for about 8 weeks as he prepares to start rehab on his left leg.
The spokesmen for the actor went on to say: “Harrison Ford's left leg was broken in an accident. His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly. He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work.”
For those who don`t know, Harrison Ford, who stared as Han Solo in the original Star Wars films, was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital, in Oxford on June 12th following the accident at Pinewood Studios while filming a scene for Star Wars: Episode VII.
Bosses have rescheduled the scenes so as not to disrupt filming.
