FOX has just released eight new character posters for its upcoming Batman prequel series Gotham - and they have made me so impatient for the fall release!!

The posters feature David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne, Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma, Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney, Ben McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Clare Foley as Ivy Pepper, and Robin Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot.

As a general rule, I love prequel/origin shows and movies (as an exception, I present to you Star Wars Ep I-III) and I am especially excited about this being a tv show - the format is much closer to comic books than a single movie, which gives us so much more opportunity for character development.

Obviously, Bruce Wayne's backstory is well-known, so I am more interested about some of the possibilities for the villains!

One of the most interesting ones is, of course, Fish Mooney. You won't recognize the name, because this is not a character from the comic books, but an original creation by FOX. I love how they are bringing in a woman to play a big bad gangster - especially as most of the recognizable villains are going to be very young in the series. This gives us someone for Detectives Gordon and Bullock to go up against. Vicious female gangster? Yes please!!

Pre-commissioner goodness!

I'm also really excited for the look of Poison Ivy and Catwoman as young girls. Especially Selina Kyle, as we have previously always seen her transformation into Catwoman as an adult. I love the idea of seeing her as a teenager - although I'll be interested to see how they play it. Will we see her transformation from mousy girl into a more Catwoman-esque character, or will she be re-written entirely to make Selina a bit of a badass from the start? She looks pretty rebellious in the poster!

Looking a little goth - which is amazing!!

I'm hoping for Selina Kyle to be a bit of a foil to Ivy Pepper, and from the posters, it looks like we will definitely get a shy (but presumably brilliant) and very young Ivy. This may actually be my favorite poster of the bunch, and I am really hoping for interaction, maybe even a friendship between the two girls.

Which brings us to the last poster, and some truly amazing casting - at least from the perspective of having the right face for the job! You don't need the name at the top of this one to see who Robin Taylor will be playing.

What do you think of the new posters? Who else would you like to see in a Batman prequel?
