Before I first saw this film I didn't know if I would like it as I love the story of Romeo and Juliet. However the version I liked before seeing this was Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968). But once I watched this film and once I saw Leonardo DiCaprio is playing Romeo I just had too.

This film is so well done and very clever by setting Shakespeare's greatest love story in the modern times of the 90's where there's gun's not swords and there's car's not horses clever right?

So the Montagues and the Capulets never get along and there's always fight's and updates about them on the news. They reside in 'Verona'. The endless fight continues between the lead man for house Montague 'Benvolio' Romeo's cousin and 'Tybalt' Juliet's cousin for house Capulet. And then we come to a party at the Capulet's where Romeo meets Juliet and it's love at first sight. Shakespeare's story is so beautiful and sad, showing a struggle between both houses and a struggle for young love.

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?
O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

I recommend this film to watch, it's so different and unique in it's clever ways that i you will enjoy it. And you'll love Mercutio!!!
