Much has been made of Peter Jackson's decision to split the diminutive Hobbit into three movies. An Unexpected Journey had some unnecessary padding which served no purpose other than to give Elijah Wood some screen time, and those of you who caught The Desolation of Smaug will know that they managed to flesh the plot out with a (perhaps pretty unnecessary) love story.
But fan criticism on these points aside, Jackson is staying strong and is, reportedly, soon to push out the first official trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. According to J. R. R. Tolkien fan website The One Ring, a spy has been keeping a close eye over Jackson and has approved the latest Hobbit trailer, which is now only awaiting a rating. They say:
A little earlier, a birdie landed on our mountain and informed us that Peter Jackson put his final approval on the first trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies just today.
Our first time source says that the trailer still needs to be rated, but hopefully (cross fingers) this means we’ll see marketing for the final Hobbit film cranking into gear in the near future.
Our first Christmas gift is about to arrive. The first step in us going There and Back Again for the very last time. Enjoy the moment, folks. The end is near and I trust Peter Jackson. Period.
Do you trust Peter Jackson with The Battle of Five Armies?
