This is the one film that I cannot wait to see. Not only is James Cameron one of the greatest directors of all time, but he has created a world like no other with Avatar. I hated the idea of Avatar when it first came out. It was something that I didn't think I would be interested in seeing, but little did I know that it would turn out to be my favorite film to date. There are a few reasons for this:

1.) This film has everything that one could ask for in a movie. What I mean by that is that it has action, romance, and humor. It has the best of what each genre can offer. How can someone not like that?

2.) I liked the idea that when James Cameron originally came up with this idea, he wasn't in a hurry to get it made. When he first thought about the film, he knew that technology was not yet advanced enough to make it look the way he had envisioned. It wasn't until several years later that he dug up the old script, and read it all the way through in one sitting, and thought to himself that this (Avatar) was a damn good story.

3.) James Cameron produces quality stuff. I understand that a lot of people do not like much of his work (be it Terminator, Titanic, or Avatar), but one cannot deny that he is one of the most successful directors and writers for a reason. I cannot wait to see what he does with the next few films.

It has been stated by Cameron that they are nearing the end of the writing portion of the next three Avatar films. Yes, that's right. As of right now, there are going to be a total of FOUR Avatar movies. Cameron has been working on the plot lines for each of the films simultaneously. As of today, he said that he would be done with the writing in about six weeks. That's pretty impressive seeing as how [Avatar 4](movie:625039) is to come out in 2018. Not too long from now.

From the creation of the Na'vi language, all the way to the physical stunts the actors had to learn to perform, it is plainly visible that all of Cameron's heart and talent has been poured into this epic series and the world of Pandora itself. The colors and the characters are something of a wonder. He has also said that there are going to be new characters, new species, and different settings, which makes me wonder where he is going with this (outside of Pandora). And what is the future of Pandora? Will it end in tragedy, or triumph?

It took around four years to come up with the first Avatar film, but Cameron assures us that the sequels will be going a lot faster because of the advancements in technology that will only speed up the process.

One of the biggest shocks for me that I learned just recently is that Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) will be coming back. This is interesting because she died in the final moments of the first movie. She states that she cannot tell what she will be doing in the next string of films, but does say that she will be 'transforming' and playing different roles in each of the movies. She also says that the characters she will be playing are very important to the storyline and plot. I am interested to see where this goes.
