The cast of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally seems to be falling into place. The latest piece of the puzzle? Scoot McNairy. The 12 Years a Slave, Non-Stop and Monsters star looks set to feature in the eagerly anticipated superhero team-up - but who will he be playing?

According to Deadline, Warner Bros won't confirm anything at this point - and are reportedly keeping their mouths conspicuously shut. Which suggests one of two things - either they're feeling guilty about stealing him away from Marvel (he starred in the Marvel One Shot All Hail the King alongside Ben Kingsley), or McNairy is set to play a role of some considerable substance. If he'd just been cast as 'minor Lexcorp scientist No 2', they'd be unlikely to be so reticent.

Add in McNairy's burgeoning career, and reputation for being able to excel in more or less any role that's thrown at him, and this suggests he's about to take on a major role of some sort.

And we think we might know just what that role will be.

Tell ya what. Check out this video, and then meet us just below to see if you see the same thing we do:

Jittery mannerisms?

Raw, awkward charisma?

A dark secret, barely hidden?

Peculiar, deeply creepy voice?

That doesn't seem like a Nightwing or a Jimmy Olsen to me.

This guy?

I think we might be about to see The Joker make his return to the big screen...

Either that or Green Lantern is going to get DARK.

[Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice](movie:711870) is set for release May 6, 2016.

What do you guys reckon? Who'll McNairy play in Batman v Superman?
