It was common knowledge amongst True Blood fans that Luke Grimes had left his role as James to be replaced by Nathan Parsons, however now we are learning new reasons why the actor might have left Bon Temps.

When Grime's left the show, he was on his way to shoot his scenes for [Fifty Shades of Grey](movie:391697) so fans didn't think to question his departure too much, but TVLine reported the move was due to 'creative differences'.

A few months on, Buzzfeed is reporting that they know what those creative differences are, and it seems that Grimes had an objection to [True Blood](series:200767) 's homosexual storylines. Especially, if they just so happen to involve him.

WARNING: Spoilers Below!

Buzzfeed reports that a source close to production has confirmed Grimes left the show because James will enter into a romance with Lafayette this season, and Grimes was uncomfortable portraying a character in a homosexual relationship.

Today's report states that;

Grimes objected to the first few scripts he received, once it became clear that his character would become romantically involved with Lafayette. He countered that he would be willing to play the role if Lafayette were attracted to him, but not if the attraction was mutual. He also did not want to do any same-sex kissing or sex scenes. The writers were unwilling to change the scripts on his behalf

Well, clearly Luke Grimes must have gone insane. Everyone knows Lafayette is the most fantastic, fierce gay character on TV and if you don't want to get with that, you have some issues!

Do you think it's okay that Luke Grimes left True Blood because he objected to gay storylines?
