**Beware, loads of spoilers ahead**
Its been a few hours now since the Series 8 teaser trailer came out and most of you must have already seen it. For those of you who haven't, its right down below.
Just a quick recap of what we know so far -
- The Doctor saved Gallifrey, and he knows that too.
- He hates his kidneys.
- He does not remember to fly the TARDIS.
- The TARDIS is crashing (again).
- Clara knows how the regeneration works.
and did I mention that the Doctor isn't growing any younger? He's really old.
Now that the teaser is out, we've also received the name of the first episode, finally. "Deep breath". Yes, that's what they went with. Its almost as if they're talking to the Whovians directly. They figured that some of us may not follow the news as much and so the best way for Steven Moffat to warn us is by making his warning into the title of the first episode.
Obviously a lot of us are excited for the new Doctor. Doctor who has always proven to be very exciting with change. There's always a new touch to the show and this time around, Moffat has specifically told us that this season is going to be changing Doctor Who. But this teaser had a few things to say too.
The highlight of the teaser was obviously the short conversation between the Doctor and Clara
Clara, be my pal, tell me - Am I a good man?
I don't think I know who the Doctor is anymore
I know a few people speculate that the Doctor is questioning the goodness of this personality because of the 50th. But the Doctor already knows that he saved Gallifrey and all his people. How else would he be alive to even question his personality? There are two things that I feel could be happening here.
It could be that he's simply confused and wants to find out more about himself. Like in the Christmas when the 10th Doctor leaves the TARDIS on the Sycorax ship and starts to introduce himself
See that's the thing. I'm the Doctor. But beyond that I just don't know. I literally do not know who I am. It's all untested. Am I funny? Am I sarcastic? Sexy? Right old misery? Life and soul? Right-handed, left-handed? A gambler, a fighter, a coward, a traitor, a liar, a nervous wreck? - The Tenth Doctor, The Christmas Invasion
Or it could be that he's questioning his personality because of what River told him in "A good man goes to war"
This was exactly you. All this. All of it. You make them so afraid. When you began all those years ago, sailing off to see the Universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name. "Doctor." The word for healer and wise man throughout the Universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean? To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word Doctor means "Mighty Warrior." How far you've come. And now they've taken a child. The child of your best friends. And they're going to turn her into a weapon just to bring you down. And all this, my love, in fear of you.
The last episode of the show - "The Night of the Doctor" involved The Doctor fighting against all his enemies over hundreds of years, merely trying to protect his secret, his name, and avoid the Time War all over again. So, I figure that could be the reason that the Doctor is so unsure of the man he is.
But Clara doesn't know. Why doesn't she know who he is? It could be because its a new man and she's yet to know him, just as everyone of us. Guess we'll just have to wait and find out.
The entire teaser gave me this whole intense feeling of the Doctor, and the man he's going to be. Is he going to be a little like the war Doctor and the 9th Doctor? We don't really know. This teaser was indeed a teaser.
There's another thing that caught my attention. The TARDIS is crashing. Its burning up, so do we get to see a new TARDIS? Is it going to be really tiny like in this scene?
Tell me what you think?
