Ever since the success of the Avengers movie, the fans have been clamoring for a Hulk stand alone with Ruffalo. One of the story lines asked for is the PLANET HULK story where the big green rampage machine is sent off planet via a rocket and finds himself on an alien planet fighting other powerhouses from across the universe. This is an oversimplification of course, but giving you more info right now seems to me a waste of time.

This is because of a quote from Mark Ruffalo, the man playing Bruce Banner (Hulk's alter ego), giving what could be bad news for some:

Mark Ruffalo to MTV
"'Planet Hulk?' I don't think that's the way to go yet," he said. "I think you need more Banner. The whole thing is just him as Hulk, on a planet, fighting other gladiators."

Not that Whedon hasn't already told us PLANET HULK rumors were nonsense. SO, hopefully, this will quieten this noise.

Bottom line? A good story teller knows better to jump head long into such a complex story. Ruffalo even knows as Whedon does that Bruce Banner needs some building up as does his bad side. PLANET HULK is the worst idea for the next chapter in the Hulks life. Now, I don't think we need another origin story. They've been done to death. And I'm not even sure I know where to start with where to go. But my first thought, as a writer, is to build a proper antagonist and then challenge the Hell out of the Hulk.

The Leader maybe? What do you think?
