Way back in May, NBC officially confirmed the news that we'd been dreading for years.
Community was being cancelled after five seasons - a horrifying eventuality that could only be handled through the most supportive of mediums: Gifs featuring Troy and Abed.
But fear not, true believers - Community is back, and it'll hopefully be better than ever.
And, better yet - it's heading online - to Yahoo.
As creator Dan Harmon put it:
"I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo...I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, BangBus!"
What's more, Joel McHale added:
"#SixSeasonsAndaMovie is real. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It’s the internet. We can swear now."
Which means not only are we getting to head back to Greendale - this very fall - but we'll most likely get to hear our heroes swear like sailors when we get there.
The only problem with all of this? Not everyone is guaranteed to make it back.
Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Yvette Nicole Brown, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong are all signed on the dotted line - but there's no word yet on whether Donald Glover will reconsider his exit during season 5.
Dan Harmon apparently did what he could at the time of Glover's departure:
"I'm just going to go home, kill a chicken, drink its blood, make a Blair Witch thing out of its bones, pray to every deity that I have to that if we do get a sixth season that Donald will have tired of his Donald-ness"
But who knows if that'll be enough?
And if it isn't, then will our hearts ever be the same? I mean...the feelings...the overwhelming sense of loss...the no more Troy and Abed in the morning.
But, nevertheless, this is a day of celebration. Bring out the dancing Human Beings!
And never forget that mantra!
[Community](series:714858) is set to return in the fall, on Yahoo. We can all begin sending them thank you cards now.
Just how badly do you want Donald Glover back?
