Can you honestly think of a better way to spend the upcoming 4th of July weekend than by watching all four seasons of AMC's hit zombie apocalyptic show, The Walking Dead?

My answer: a definitive NO!!!

That means that instead of going to a party, or attending an extravagant fireworks show, I will be sitting on my ultra-comfy couch watching Rick Grimes and co. gunning down those dreaded walkers (and each other, at times).

Starting this coming Friday, July 4th, at 9:00 a.m. ET/PT, AMC will begin airing that special 'TWD' marathon. All 51 episodes that comprise the show's four previous seasons will run nonstop. So, my advice to you is: get some sleep now!

Also, not only will we get to see the Governor meet his demise all over again, but we will also be treated to a first look at season five, which is set to debut in October. Hopefully, that first look does not spoil too much, even though I am truly anxious to see some footage from anything related to season five.

The marathon will conclude with a "Talking Dead Season 5 Preview Special," hosted by Chris Hardwick, on Sunday, July 6th, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. 'TWD' showrunner Scott Gimple will make a guest appearance, along with actress Aisha Tyler. Expect lots and lots of teasing (or questions not fully answered, whatever you prefer to call it) about the upcoming fifth season, and Chris Hardwick's endless barrage of jokes (some may be comical, others not so much).

On a weekend where Americans will be celebrating the independence of the United States, we all will get the opportunity to celebrate one of the very best shows on television. What a weekend this coming one will be!!!
