According to Variety, Disney has officially announced two new cast members for the upcoming first installment of the next Star Wars trilogy: Star Wars Episode VII. The new Lucasfilm owners are proud to announce Crystal Clarke and Pip Andersen have been cast in the film.
The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film.
However, the best part is we may actually know who this actor and actress will be playing! According to Variety, the two will likely play characters named Rachel and Thomas, whose names were given at the casting calls for the film.
In November, Disney did issue a casting call for two characters named Rachel, a “beautiful, smart and athletic” 17-to-18-year-old woman, and Thomas, a “handsome, smart and athletic” 19-23-year-old man.
On another note, it seems as though Harrison Ford's on-set injury will indeed cause some altercations to the filming schedule next month, but we've been assured that the film will still release on schedule and that production will be rearranged to best fit the current predicament.
[Star Wars: Episode VII](movie:711158) is set to hit theaters galaxy-wide on December 18th, 2015.
