It's time to talk about Negan.

Those of you who've read The Walking Dead comics will know exactly who he is, and why Rick and the group should fear him. I'd also bet that those of you who haven't read the source material will at least have heard of him, and will know that he's very bad news indeed.

Basically, Negan makes the Governor look about as threatening as a unicorn skipping over a rainbow while being ridden by Zac Efron.

Fans have been debating for months on who would be the ideal candidate to play the maniacal menace, and it seems the producers on [The Walking Dead](series:201193) have been paying attention.

During the Talking Dead Season 5 Preview Special, which aired last night, showrunner Scott M. Gimple was asked about his favorite rumor regarding the show:

The recent one that Jon Hamm was going to play Negan, who is a character coming up, a villain.

Hamm has been linked to the role of Negan for awhile now. Some of this is because he has a similar - but less bulky - look to the antagonist, while we also shouldn't discount the fact he's already part of the AMC family, playing Don Draper on [Mad Men](series:200778).

Hamm might not be the first choice for you guys though. When we ran the Negan Fan Casting last week, he was booted out in the first round. British actor Vinnie Jones ended up being crowned victorious, beating Henry Rollins in the final.

Who would make a better Negan?
