"The Martial Arts Kid" is a serious coming-of-age story involving a troubled teen - played by rising star Jansen Panettiere - that grows & matures after taking martial arts from his aunt & uncle, who are portrayed by martial arts legends Cynthia Rothrock & Don Wilson. It is set in Cocoa Beach, Florida and it has a great cast & crew with REAL martial artists & great action, too.
Even with all that going for it, sizzling Marissa Jade stole the show - at least for a day, anyway.
"In this one scene, I (portray) Gia, the "Hot Girl" who came into the bike shop looking for a bike but wound up taking interest in Jansen's (character Robbie) and start to harmlessly flirt with him", says Jade, laughing. " t made Kathryn's character (Rina) a bit jealous."
Though her role was relatively small, Jade says she is proud of the project and happy to be a part of it.
"Filming 'The Martial Arts Kid' was an amazing experience", says Jade. "I had a great time on set working with the cast and crew. The main characters, Jansen Panetterie and Kathryn Newton, were fun to work with."
"The Martial Arts Kid" is set to hit theaters in 2015.
