***MINOR DAREDEVIL SPOILERS FOLLOW***

Marvel's first foray onto the television scene since the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off resulted in a mixed reception. Although Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. certainly picked up in the homestretch and is promising a bold new season on the horizon, many loyal comic book fans were hoping for something a little darker, a little more serious, and a little more serialized and less episodic.

Enter: The Man Without Fear

Marvel's Daredevil, a 13-episode season which will be releasing on Netflix in 2015, promises to be all of that. Kicking off a whole new sub-MCU phase, as it were, Daredevil promises to be a darker-in-tone, down to earth, made for adults serial drama revolving around Hell's Kitchen and fighting crime alongside upcoming seasons of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist; ultimately culminate in The Defenders.

Well, filming is already well-underway, and it was only a matter of time before someone leaked set photos and footage off their iPhone. Thankfully, while these photos brought to you courtesy of the guys over at LatinoReview don't reveal much, they certainly capture a tone that seems to in fact be darker, grittier, and less pristine than what we've seen on SHIELD thus far. That is, if the boy screaming, "I can't see!" is any indication.

You know it's grittier cuz there's litter!

As you savvy comic book fans have no doubt already pointed out, it looks like we'll be getting a full-on retelling of Matt Murdock's origins in the show; which is probably for the best considering how long it's been since the last attempt at a cinematic Daredevil, and because that just needs to be forgotten anyway...

So, tell me what you think of the first set photos and video footage. Are you looking forward to a take on Daredevil that will be grittier than Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but would seem to be a little less morose than the Ben Affleck Daredevil? Let me know in the comments below!
