Last year gave us a fairly forgettable, if stylish, biblical tale in the shape of Darren Aronofsky's Noah, and now Ridley Scott is having his turn at souping up the Old Testament for the modern, pop-corn munching congregation.
[Exodus: Gods and Kings](movie:44617), which stars Christian Bale, tells the tale of Moses as he lead the exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt and into their 'Promised Land'. Of course, the journey famously takes him across the Red Sea, and no doubt this will be the climax of the film. However, the new trailer suggests they'll also be no shortage of battle scenes, chariots whizzing around and Bale looking slightly smug with himself - which I suppose you would be if you could part the sea. Check it out below:
From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure "Exodus: Gods and Kings," the story of one man's daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
Exodus: Gods and Kings has set its release date for December 12, 2014.
