Tom Cruise recently appeared beside the rather lovely Emily Blunt in the fantastic Edge of Tomorrow, but today we've learned he'll be joined by some more European talent in the upcoming Mission: Impossible 5.

Deadline is reporting that Swedish actress Rebecca Ferguson will star opposite Cruise as the female lead in [Mission: Impossible 5](movie:373501). Ferguson, who was raised in Sweden, but is now based in London, was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her English-language debut in the BBC's The White Queen and you'll next be able to see her with Dwayne Johnson in Brett Ratner's [Hercules](movie:365390).

There's no word yet on what her role specifically involves, but we are also hearing that Alec Baldwin is in talks to play the head of the CIA in M:I5.

Mission: Impossible 5 will begin shooting in August with Chris McQuarrie in the director's chair.

Do you think Rebecca Ferguson is a good casting choice for M:I5?
