The Walking Dead has once again been snubbed by the Emmys and has failed to garner a single nomination. This is despit AMC's zompocalypse drama breaking all sorts of ratings records for the third year running and delivering a fourth season that many - myself included - think is the strongest one yet.

As always with the Emmys, there are plenty of familiar faces returning, especially in the category for Outstanding Actor in a Drama, or, as I like to call it: The Category Where Six Guys Show Up and then Bryan Cranston Wins.

Here are some of the nominees:

OUTSTANDING DRAMA

Breaking Bad

Downton Abbey

Game of Thrones

True Detective

House of Cards

Mad Men

OUTSTANDING ACTRESS IN A DRAMA

Claire Danes, Homeland

Lizzy Caplan, Masters of Sex

Michelle Dockery, Downton Abbey

Julianna Margulies, The Good Wife

Kerry Washington, Scandal

Robin Wright, House of Cards

OUTSTANDING ACTOR IN A DRAMA

Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad

Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom

Jon Hamm, Mad Men

Kevin Spacey, House of Cards

Matthew McConaughey, True Detective

Woody Harrelson, True Detective

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTOR IN A DRAMA

Josh Charles, The Good Wife

Jon Voight, Ray Donovan

Aaron Paul, Breaking Bad

Jim Carter, Downton Abbey

I know I'm quite biased towards The Walking Dead (because it's awesome!), but I'm really surprised it failed to score a single nomination. I really enjoyed Season 4 and thought it contained some of the best writing and performances we've seen on the show to date.

Some of the work done by the cast - especially Melissa McBride and the whole 'child murder' thing - was astonishing.

Are you seriously telling me this isn't worthy of award recognition?
