Kite is a remake of the eponymous dystopian anime Kite by Yasuomi Umetsu. The animation expert is known for his action-packed, adult themed work - and this one looks to follow suit. The original movie depicted extreme violence and graphic rape scenes.
Set in the near future, after a global financial collapse, the Kite remake centers on a young girl who's father, a cop, is slain by someone dirty inside the force, who vows revenge after her policeman father is murdered. Samuel L. Jackson plays the cop partner of her deceased pa.
We know Sammy is, of course, a no-nonsense motha. But the real troublemaker here appears to be 21-year-old actress India Eisle, playing Sawa. Check it out:
Anime fans are pretty hardcore when it comes to their most beloved properties, and in any subgenre it would be difficult to translate animated material into live-action. Do you think Kite will live up to that challenge?
