August 2nd marks the SyFy Channel release of [Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda](movie:1518668)and it also marks the acting debut of one of pop culture's most beloved ginger icons - Conan O'Brien.
To celebrate this epic moment, O'Brien has commissioned advertisements in The Hollywood Reporter and a (partially obstructed) billboard in LA.
Don't believe me?
With TV movies striving more and more to compete with their bigger budget big screen brethren (phew), they're really starting to pull out the big guns. [Sharknado 2: The Second One](movie:1228437) features a star-studded cast to balance out their questionable list of main actors, and it looks like Sharktopus is pulling the same kind of stunt. Cameos in campy movies are nothing new, and everyone loves seeing their favorite pop-culture headliners getting horribly maimed --- or is that just me?
Check out this teaser - nabbed from producer Roger Corman's YouTube channel featuring a lounging Cony, a roaring Sharktopus, and a random kill that makes me giggle.
So what IS Conan's career defining role? Will he survive the wrath of Sharktopus? Or will Pteracuda have the final oddly metallic scream of victory?
We'll have to wait until [Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda](movie:1518668) premieres on August 2nd, only (hopefully) on SyFy.
