Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens ten years after the devastating flu pandemic has decimated the human race. The apes managed to survive and live in peace outside the city. The great Ceasar is no more the adolescent of the first prequel Rise of the Planet of the Apes. He has become a respected leader and a loving father.

The opening chasing scene is remarkable : full of energy and prise the apes are on horses and ready to catch game. They have their all world established, the fantastic Maurice (the orangutan that Caesar met when he was in cage) is a sweet teacher and Koba (delivered by Caesar from testing center) is one of Caesar's closest friend. A group of humans were immune to the virus and created a safe zone but they need more power and what they are looking for is where the apes are. War is inevitable between them. However Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is never about the humans, it's about the apes and it's incredibly well done. The apes' looks are very intense and the actors are excellent.

Andy Serkis, playing Caesar, is beyond perfect. During the world premiere in New York City Keri Russell, who plays the wife of Malcolm (Jason Clarke), praised Serkis' performance : "Andy is just so good. That was really the treat of doing this movie. He's unbelievable." Caesar is a character who will stay with me for a long time. His story is our story. We are all growing up and crossing all the stages of life. Koba, played by Toby Kebbell , is the anti-hero and his relationship with Caesar is very interesting, there is no doubt that they will be remembered as two great historic figures in the History of apes. Koba's strength and rage to fight is as remarkable as Caesar's wisdom. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is an emotionnal movie, prepare to have to heart break and wait for the very last moment to leave the theater...
