So it's confirmed that Mark Romanek, is to helm the project.
Variety had this to say about what the movie entails:
"Based on Stephen King’s original prologue to “The Shining”, which was cut from the book prior to publication in 1977, the film will tell the origin story of the Overlook Hotel through the eyes of its first owner, Bob T. Watson. A robber baron at the turn of the 20th century, Watson scaled the remote peaks of the Colorado Rockies to build the grandest resort in America, and a place he and his family would also call home..."
With such details being reveal, much can be speculated as to what topics they will truly focus in on for this film.
Here are the things that I would love to see happen:
1) The original owner and the ghosts that haunted the place
You know that guy was into some serious voodoo or black magic or something OLD like Evil Dead style. Or maybe he just sold his soul to keep residents dying and him company over the years.
2) What about the women in room 217
We all want to know about her and why she haunts just THAT specific room. There has to be a reason and my money is on dying from vanity?
3) The twin girls
Why were they there and whose kids are they even?! I've always wanted to know this!
4) The bartender
Come on, everyone wants to know about this guy! He served drinks and was all chill about convincing someone to kill their family. That was creepy enough.
5) What is in their basement and attic
They never touched on this thoroughly or ever give you a good look. I bet they have skeletons, real and metaphorical, sitting in those closets.
So I've listed my reasons, what are some of your ideas and thoughts on what you want to see in the movie?
