Well, it's official; there is going to be another The Ring movie. F. Javier Gutierrez has been revealed as the director for the third installment in this film franchise. Gutierrez became a sought after director after his Spanish language film Before The Fall won multiple international awards. Gutierrez also has the honor, or poor luck depending upon how you view it, of directing the upcoming The Crow remake with Luke Evans.

The Ring came onto the scene in 2002 during the huge wave of J-Horror remakes. Directed by Gore Verbinski, it is an incredibly effective horror movie that was well received by both critics and audiences alike. The original source material is the novel Ring by Koji Suzuki and is about a mysterious video tape that curses the viewer to death in seven days. Though Suzuki co-wrote both film versions, the second film didn't do nearly as well as the first.
