Rick Grimes is a man transformed and will probably spend most of Season 5 ripping people's faces off.
Okay, so this might be a tad extreme, but Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman, has admitted that farmer Rick is gone, and the new season will see Rick start to mirror his more violent, survive-at-all-costs, comic book counterpart:
I know everyone’s been asking, ‘When’s that guy coming? When are we gonna see that guy?’ I can say with confidence that he’s here, and Andrew Lincoln is having, I think, a great time with it.
I imagine some of you unfamiliar with the comics might be thinking that Rick is already pretty badass - and you'd be right - but there are darker and more brutal episodes to come.
Like the fate that befalls the cannibals/Termites, for instance:
It will certainly make your eyes water...
The recidivism of Rick Grimes is a brutally dark ongoing theme in the comics. As soon as he feels he's found a place of sanctuary, a place to restart a civilization, something violent and catastrophic will happen, forcing him return to his dark place - and it always ends up bloody.
A bit like this...
It's going to be fascinating - and violent - to see Rick explore his dark side on the show.
