Rumor after rumor, James Gunn has been as blunt as you can get with fans, and we love him for it because it means that we finally know the truth behind Marvel's plans inch by inch. Eventually, one of these rumors will be true and we'll know something's up when he doesn't deny it. However, this time, Gunn is here to tell us what we somewhat did, somewhat didn't want to hear. There will be no [Guardians of the Galaxy](movie:424073) and Planet Hulk crossover:

I can answer that question very easily: it is absolute, 100% bullshit. It feels like a great relief to finally say this after all the dumb stuff on the Internet. There's not going to be a 'Planet Hulk' movie, there was never going to be a 'Planet Hulk' movie, there was never plan for the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy – I wouldn't want the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy! And it's all a bunch of complete bullshit.

Some fans might argue that Gunn doesn't know the full plan yet, or that he won't be a deciding factor in the future of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but as it was just revealed, James Gunn will actually be the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 should the first film be the box office success we all hope it will be.

Want to make sure we see a [Guardians of the Galaxy 2](movie:1081113)? Make sure to see Guardians on OPENING WEEKEND to assure Marvel that the sequel will make the money required for Disney to fund it!

Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters very soon on August 1st, 2014.
