Cautiously optimistic about future comic book movies.

For the past few years, we knew Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would put his muscle to the test to bring us a DC character that had never been brought to life before, but was well-known and badass.

In the recent past, many people suspected Johnson would be playing John Stewart, the bronze age Green Lantern. But in his recent interview with Total Film (below) promoting his new movie Hercules,

, he said though that was a character he wanted to play, there was already a cinematic portrayal of GL (though it was Hal Jordan), and he wanted to be a badass, well-known character with the power of Superman, and one that had never been done before ... at least not since the 40's and 70's!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Shazam!

Dwayne Johnson has proven recently to be a good actor, plus being funny, intimidating, and totally frickin' ripped! Be honest, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, even seeming to be one of the nicest celebrities in Hollywood, is not someone you're gonna mess with. He can play a kid in an adult's body. Although, that would give him only 50-60% of screen time that would otherwise go to whatever boy they cast as Billy Batson. Will that be a waste of The Rock's full potential to play a great, iconic DC character such as Shazam? We won't know until he reveals who he is playing and if his origin will be 100% faithful to the comics.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Black Adam

The Rock looks spot on for Black Adam.

Plus he can easily pull off a menacing guy. But then again, I think a recurring villain with Spock ears and that accent Whiplash had in Iron Man 2 is scraping the barrel for The Rock. But as he said in his tweet:

With John Stewart out of the picture, Black Adam is The Rock's FAVORITE superhero? How convenient! And just incase you need some more convincing...

Just say the word!
Just say the word!

In my humble opinion, I think Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would make a PHENOMENAL Black Adam, but let's be real. Though his performance could be one of the greatest villain portrayals right under Tom Hiddleston, HEATH LEDGER, and the Mandar... oh yeah... But I think for the kids, for the Rock-fans, for the world: The Rock is going to play Shazam!! And it could be great!

So what do YOU think? Who will The Rock play in the DC Cinematic Universe?

Thanks for reading! I'm sure there'll be lots of news to cover at Comic-Con very soon! So I'll keep ya posted! -Sam
