Will we hear more about a Deadpool movie at San Diego Comic Con (SDCC)?
That is the question hanging over SDCC for many fans, who have for years been urging Marvel to bring [Deadpool](movie:38663) aka The Merc With A Mouth to the big screen, and have been disappointed time and time again (for the record, X-Men Origins: Wolverine doesn't count).
So will he appear at San Diego Comic Con 2014?
The latest rumor to emerge is that Ryan Reynolds, many fans' favorite for Deadpool, who they feel wasn't given a fair shot at the character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is going to reprise the character after being booted out of DC's Green Lantern.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, announcing at Comic Con 2014, motivated by a desire to back Marvel and snub DC!? It sounds good, doesn't it?
Well, it does until you realize that the *last* rumor was that, yes, a Deadpool movie would be announced at SDCC, but this time the story went that Ryan Reynolds had been dropped!
So, along with the potential teaser trailer to debut at SDCC, both stories also report the casting Michael Biehn as Cable.
All in all, it seems confused. Fans will have to wait and see whether there is a trailer dropped at this year's San Diego Comic Con, and whether Ryan Reynolds is involved.
Ultimately, it sounds as if things haven't changed that much since Ryan Reynolds gave this account of what it was like to be involved with the Deadpool movie:
That movie is alive and kicking, and then it's dead as a doornail. Then it's alive and kicking and then it's dead...it's like the worse (sic) relationship I've ever had. Everybody has a different idea as to how you're supposed to do it, and for me, it's been tough because it comes and goes like the tide...I never know where it is.
