Eric and Pam's Republican massacre might have been a hit with us True Blood fans, but senator Ted Cruz was less than impressed about being the butt of their jokes.

The episode that rubbed the Republican senator up the wrong way featured Eric and Pam going undercover at a Ted Cruz fundraising event thrown at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas. As well as butchering everybody in sight, the vampires also dressed as stereotypical wealthy Texan's in order to gain entry.

Being chosen as the senator who best embodies all of the negative Tea Party stereotypes must have been enough of a burn, but Eric and Pam also delivered some hilariously damning lines including;

Of all the horrible things I've seen in the last hundred years, this could be the most disturbing

The errant vamps were also possibly the first to coin the insult 'republic*nt'... Which I'm sure won't be going away any time soon, despite Cruz's protests.

But, what did the senator himself have to say about all this?

In at attempt to bite his lip and appear like a good sport, the offended Tea Party champion offered up this statement on Facebook;

Of all the places I never thought to be mentioned, HBO's True Blood vampire show would have to be near the top of the list. Sunday night, they aired a misogynist and profanity-ridden episode where Texas Republicans are murdered attending a "Ted Cruz fundraiser."
Well, I'm sorry to have lost the vampire vote, but am astonished (and amused) that HBO is suggesting that hard-core leftists are blood-sucking fiends...

It is yet to be conformed whether he fired his multiple guns into the sky with outrage and danced around like Yosemite Sam...

Do you think True Blood went too far with its Republican Massacre?
