Ah yes, as we enter into FULL summer, the entire world (ok, the 1st world part) is a-tingle with anticipation, as the theme to Jaws plays in the background and Discovery Channel's Shark Week approaches!!
Actually, SyFy's Sharknado Week starts first...
So, for those of you who like your science a little...well, a little less like science and a little more like SYENCE then you're in for a treat.
But the REAL news is that SyFy will feature the premiere of not only [Sharknado 2: The Second One](movie:1228437) but also [Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda](movie:1518668) which has a new poster and a new ginger hero...
On Sunday, August 2nd, 9pm PST - Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda will be unleashed. The child of Sharktopus (how this happened, I'll never know. The original Sharktopus didn't exactly have time to mate with anything, and even if it did, WHAT would it have mated with? Was Skarktopus male or female? These are important questions, folks!) goes toe-to-toe with evil scientist Robert Carradine's latest science experiment "Pteracuda" – half Pteradactyl, half Barracuda (no, it doesn't work, but hey...SYENCE!) – in a battle for monster supremacy...or something.
The poster itself is actually pretty badass - I love it when the artwork cashes cheques that the films just can't cash. Pteracuda looks phenomenal, but having seen the clip...we're not in for the same monster. I also enjoy the little snippet about "inspired by true events" - which here means it's inspired by the true event that there was another film made that featured Sharktopus. Plus, Cony's name is on the poster. My fingers are still crossed that he dies early and stereotypically.
Will YOU be catching [Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda](movie:1518668) and tuning in to Sharknado Week?
I'm still pretty sure that I have plans.
This is pretty much how I feel about ALL killer shark movies.
