According to The Hollywood Reporter, horror writer/directors Jen and Sylvia Soska are on board to help the big screen adaption of Painkiller Jane, a comic created by duo Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada. The Soska Sisters have been extremely busy lately: their film See No Evil 2 will be released at the end of 2014 and they just wrapped Vendetta for Lionsgate and WWE. But there is no question that they are the perfect pair for this project!

Painkiller Jane, which premiered in 1995, follows the exploits of an undercover narcotics cop and her best friend/partner. After Jane is discovered and tortured by drug lords, she is tortured so horrendously that she is left with the ability to regenerate and feel almost no pain. Painkiller Jane has had multiple crossovers with the likes of Hellboy and The Punisher, and has also been adapted before into both another film (made-for-TV) and a short-lived television series.

This new version of Painkiller Jane is produced by the minds behind Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and will likely be produced on an indie budget. The Soskas are no stranger to indie film: their first feature Dead Hooker in a Trunk was a micro-budget feature-length film.

Do you think the Soska Sisters are the right choice to direct Painkiller Jane?
