You don't have to a Tolkien expert to deduce that The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies is going to include some rather epic battle scenes. And of course, if you want to go into battle you better make sure you don't forget your kit.
Luckily, the elven Lord of Rivendell, Elrond, has made sure he's equipped to do battle with goblins, wargs, orcs and a whole manner of evil nasties. In a new behind the scenes image, we see Hugo Weaving discarding his comfortable elven robes for something a bit harder. Check him out below:
According to theonering.net, this is Elrond in the Dol Guldor set, which suggests he might get into action there, as well as at the Lonely Mountain. To the right we can see the early design of Bolg in his pre-CGI days, and although he might not be present in the final film, it certainly suggests there will be confrontation of sorts.
We've also been three new stills of Bard (Luke Evans), Thranduil (Lee Pace) and Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly) similarly suited out for combat. Take a look at that below:
All of this certainly suggests [The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies](movie:512312) will earn its name in the final installment of The Hobbit trilogy.
How do you prefer your orcs and goblins?
