I know what are you thinking about this article, but it's just a rumor I am starting!

What kind of animation would the reboot have (if possible)?

Jhonen Vasquez created Invader Zim, a show on Nickelodeon that began airing from 2001 to 2002. We all know that Zim, the lovable little Irken that tries to conquer Earth, is one of Nickelodeon's most popular characters, and that, depsite the show being canceled after just two seasons, Invader Zim had gained an immense cult following over the years.

I'm now starting a rumor, and the rumor goes like this: should Jhonen Vasquez sell the rights of Invader Zim to Disney, and would it even be possible?

I know, it sounds crazy, but here's why:

Long after Invader Zim got canceled, Jhonen began working on some Marvel comic books (particularly the ones with MODOC in them), and Marvel is indeed a Disney-owned comapny. Jhonen also worked on a show on Disney XD called Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja. He worked on the character design for the show, in a way similar to that of Invader Zim's character designs. Randy Cunningham was also a major success for Disney XD, and Randy was one of the network's most popular characters. In July 2014, Disney Television Animation had recently picked up a pilot for Very Important House, a show co-created by Vasquez himself. This means that Jhonen is having more experience working for Disney rather than Nickelodeon, and in doing so, it could be possible that Disney would buy the rights to Invader Zim itself. If it is possible, than the rights could be sold by 2015 or 2016.

Now, if Disney buys the rights to Invader Zim, would there be a reboot of the show, a movie, or re-runs of the show on Disney XD?

If Disney makes a movie or TV show based off of Invader Zim, than they would focus more on having CGI/computer animation than 2D animation. The plot would be much different, and it would probably take place five years after the events of the original show. I would say they would have computer animation because we're talking of a reboot, and that it would be lovely to see Invader Zim being animated with CGI.

The show or movie would probably have a plot that would go like this: 5 years after the events of Invader Zim, Zim returns to Earth after a long absence. When a 16-year-old Dib learns about this situation, he tries to fight Zim using weapons that his father, Professor Membrane, had built for him, just for the occasion.

What do you think of all this?

If Jhonen Vasquez sells the rights of Invader Zim to Disney, what would most likely happen?
