So, we know about Maria Hill, we know about [Black Widow](movie:1070824), and we know about Scarlet Witch. The mystery as to who this fourth prominent female figure is probably going to plague us for quite awhile if Marvel decides not to announce the fourth character. However, with Marvel's movie panel for [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035) supposedly including the entire main cast, if there really is a female superhero on the screen, surely we will find out during the panel, right?
My mind is buzzing with ideas that I'm sure many of you are also thinking of. I think I can safely predict that Whedon has one of these three ladies in mind when he claims four prominent female roles rather than the previously known three.
It's been rumored for what seems like forever that Ms. Marvel will actually be in [The Avengers: Age Of Ultron](movie:293035). Those rumors flared up at the beginning of this year and died down only a month or two after they began. Still, with one simple after-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy with an injured Kree soldier landing on earth and a blonde young lady happening upon the body, we could have an origin story for Ms. Marvel within a mere week.
Claudia Kim's Mystery Role
South Korean actress Claudia Kim didn't seem to be all that important of a casting choice. When news broke that she would be a part of the film, everyone speculated that she would simply have a line or two in the movie and then she'd be done. As the full story began to uncover, it turned out that director Joss Whedon flew to South Korea himself to hand select the actress to play the part among dozens of actresses, and needed to make sure she could speak English very fluently.
Her role was briefly described as an "assistant to Tony Stark" which is about as vague as you can get. Assistant in creating the Ultron army, assistant in crime, assistant replacing Pepper Pots' old job now that she's CEO? Kim was actually rumored to be playing a unique take on Ms. Marvel, which I personally would be a fan of.
With Agent Carter all-but-confirmed to be ballroom dancing with Captain America in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it would seem as if the scene would be a perfect way to help promote the new and upcoming TV show that will be airing on ABC. With the Vision's Paul Bettany having shown up on the film set during the scene, it seems as though they'll be getting a visit from the new supervillain (gone superhero by the end of the movie presumably), which could be a major scene in the film, and give the aged, present-day Ms. Carter a chance to show that she can still kick butt, no matter how old she may be.
Still, there's plenty of room for character such as Jocasta, Mockingbird, Agent 13, and plenty of other unannounced characters to be joining the film. Who do you think the fourth lead is
Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters next year on May 1st, 2015.
